The Women’s Club continues to take advantage of the pleasant early autumn weather with our Outside Activities. In September, we walked along Crystal Cove Beach and viewed its charming historical cottages. Lunch at the Beachcomber Cafe provided a pleasing place to eat with a magnificent view and delicious entrees. This month, our ladies will tour Casa Romantica Cultural Center, a historic San Clemente home and gardens built by Ole Hanson in the 1920s. Tasty boxed lunches will be provided by Sun Dried Tomato. Mark your calendars for October 31 and meet in the Clubhouse parking lot at 11:00 a.m. for carpools. Hope you can join us!
The Niguel Shores Women’s Club is in its 46th year and membership is at a record high. All ladies of Niguel Shores are welcome to join our gregarious group promoting friendship, fun and service to the community. At
our September luncheon meeting, President Terry Link welcomed everyone back after the summer months. She then introduced our hardworking officers and committee chairs as well as new members and many guests. All ladies who celebrated August and September birthdays
were happily recognized. After a sumptuous salad buffet prepared by our members, Vice President Jennifer Hochstader presented guest speaker Jennifer Arundale, a comedian who performs regularly at The Improv,
Flappers, The Comedy Store and The Rec Room as well as smaller venues. Our speaker had us all laughing and even showed us some of her techniques in comical writing.
Next month our program will feature members Hansa Sehgal and Sharon Stewart. Hansa will speak about growing up in India and Sharon will tell us about the customs and events involved in celebrating a wedding there.
Meetings of the Women’s Club are held on the second Thursday of each month in the Niguel Shores Clubhouse. Social time begins at 12:00 noon, followed by a luncheon, and then a special program. For our next meeting October 10, members are encouraged to dress in Halloween costumes and colors in the spirit of the season.
