Women’s Golf: January 2016

The forecast was for rain, but there was bright sun and little wind. It was a lovely December day. There were two teams, a foursome and a threesome. Lee Sweeney dropped out to take Joan Beyer’s place, who was in charge of the luncheon with Ruthie Stahl. Joan had a bad fall the day before. Both of her ankles were injured, one with several breaks. She will be at the Covington for a month recovering. The game of the day was planned by Judy Boitano. We were each given a paper Christmas tree and various sticker ornaments. We were to put an ornament on our tree for various achievements such as par, birdie, over the creek, etc. The winners would be whoever ended up with the most decorated tree. Winners: Pam Strayer with 16 ornaments Other wins: Low score with a 52 Liz Kelsch birdie on hole #4 Judy Boitano birdie on hole #6 Pam Strayer Closest to the pin on #8 Marlene Lynch Longest drive:on #4 Pam Strayer Board for 2016 President Marlene Lynch Vice President Irene McDonald Treasurer Lee Sweeney Corresponding Sec.
