The Oreo Book Club met at the home of Norton Schwartz on May 21, where the group discussed the book Breakout Nations—In Pursuit of the Next Economic Miracle, written by Ruchir Sharma. The discussion was led by Lakshman Sehgal who took us through the labyrinth of politics, economics and culture of those nations that the author thought might be the next economic miracles or disasters. India, China, Brazil, Germany and Nigeria were of particular focus.
The next meeting will be led by Diane Hearne on the book Last Child in the Woods by Richard Louv. The date will be June 18 and the place undetermined at the time of this report.
