Women’s Golf – Fun Day

Fun Day was fun again and the day was a jewel, better than the best summer day. The game of the day was called Scramble. This is a team game. Each person drives her ball, the best drive is chosen, and each player hits from that same place. The best shot is chosen again, and each person hits from that spot. The game continues in this vein. Three teams played. Team number Three won with a score of 36 for the nine holes. On the winning team were Val Mitchell, Marlene Lynch, Liz Kelsch and JoAnne Webb. Other winners were: Longest drive, Val Mitchell, Closest to the pin on #8, Pam Strayer, Birdie, Pam Strayer.

After golf during our luncheon meeting Pam Strayer presented each of us with a new roster which was perfect for our group. On the front was a picture of one of our dear deer friends scrutinizing us with big brown doe eyes.

Joan Beyer announced that our annual memorial tournament is set for Monday July 14. Lunch will be at Gemmell’s in Dana Point.

Golf Captains for April are Pam Strayer (499-4737) and Judy Boitano (661-9495) Please call one of them to sign up or to cancel.

Did you know? Every time a golfer makes a birdie, he must subsequently make two double bogies to restore the fundamental equilibrium of the universe.
