We were blessed with blue skies, mild breezes, and warm sunshine during the summer here in Niguel Shores. The Women’s Club took advantage of this wonderful weather and boarded the local trolleys for outside activities to the Laguna Art-A-Fair and lunch at 7Seven7; the San Clemente Outlet Mall and brunch at Ruby’s; and Avenida Del Mar in San Clemente for lunch at South of Nick’s followed by a walk through the lovely, historic downtown.
Members, please keep September 19 open for a trip to Crystal Cove Historic District in Newport Beach. We will visit 46 vintage coastal cottages built as seaside retreats in the 1920s and 1930s. Along the beach we can scope out the restored cottages and the others getting ready to be updated.
Afterward, we’ll lunch at the Beachcomber Restaurant, a bungalow right on the sand. We will carpool to Crystal Cove State Park, park at the Los Trancos Lot, and walk under PCH through the tunnel along the paved trail to the cottages. Please meet at the Clubhouse at 10:00 a.m. Hope you can join us!
The Women’s Club begins our 2019-2020 calendar this month with the first Membership Luncheon on September 12. All ladies of Niguel Shores are welcome to join our gregarious group promoting friendship, fun and service to the community. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month in the Clubhouse. Social time begins at noon followed by a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. and a special program. Our guest speaker this month is comedian Jennifer Arundale, who performs regularly at The Improv, Flappers, The Comedy Store and The Rec Room as well as smaller venues. While relatively new to stand up, Jennifer is not new to writing and performing. She studied sketch comedy with Anne Beatts of SNL and National Lampoon fame. For membership inquiries, please contact

TIME: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Please meet at the Clubhouse parking Lot at 10:00 a.m. for carpools. We willdrive up PCH to Crystal Cove State Park and park at the Los Trancos Lot (on the right, across PCH from tocean). We will walk through the tunnel and down the trail to the cottages. Lunch will be at the Beachcomber where entrees cost about $16. We will return to Clubhouse parking lot at 2:00 p.m.
