Women’s Club Luncheon: February 9, 2023 at 12:00 in the Clubhouse

“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast;it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong- doing, but rejoices with the truth.” —1 Corinthians 13:4-8

As Valentine’s Day approaches, we may be prompted to think of “love” in its many meanings and forms. Love is a certainly a tricky word. It’s most
often understood as an intense, deep feeling. However, love isn’t merely a feeling but a way of relating to others. Love is the common denominator in how we relate to God and to others.

love, kindness, and laughter. I thank you, dear friends, for the times we have shared, activities we have planned, and the many wonderful experiences yet to come.

January Recap—Our January Luncheon was a perfect way to begin the new year with health and wellness advice from Niguel Shores Women’s Club president, Sharon Stewart and water aerobics instructor, Cynthia Carl- son. They presented “Healthy Lifestyle to the Core,” a program on taking good care of ourselves and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. We were all motivated by their positive “food for thought” on beginning a new way of life for 2023. Daily exercise, balanced meals, reaching a better weight, and healthy eating habits are great resolutions for the New Year. Just imagine what changes are possible!
February Luncheon—Plan to attend this month’s Luncheon on February 9 to hear about Cristin Cobb’s walking journey on the Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James), following the traditional Camino Frances route. This is one of many traditional pilgrimage routes Christians have followed across Europe since medieval times to reach the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela (Cathedral of St. James of the Field of Stars) where tradition says St. James is buried. Cristin started in the French Pyrenees mountains and walked on foot through northern Spain for 38 days to the Cathedral in Santiago, Spain. Come to learn about her experiences as she passed through points of interest like Pamplona, famous for
the Running of the Bulls; Rioja wine region, known for La Fuente del Vino (Fountain of Wine); and Santago’s giant archway and cathedral with a bag pipe welcome.

Watch your email for the February invitation. If there is an email problem and you don’t receive an invite for some reason, please send a message to niguelshoreswomensclub@outlook.com. If it your turn to to bring a salad, we will contact you prior to the luncheon to contribute to the delectable monthly salad bar!
