Maintenance Committee: June 2022

Ready for Summer—Summer is here! Well, the traditional Memorial Day to Labor Day summer, if not the solstice later this month and the longest day of the year. These longer days mean plenty of outside activities from the pool, to the courts, to the park and the bluff. Your Maintenance Team has the community ready with the completed semi-annual pool/ spa maintenance, and the street and concrete repairs (including follow-up the contractor is doing to the 2021 repairs at the end of Atlantic, at no charge). And have you seen the freshly sanded and stained picnic benches at the bluff along with the new benches that were recently installed? We have been busy getting ready for summer in the Shores!
New Maintenance Team Member—In other news, we would like to welcome our new part-time maintenance staff member Jason Williams. Jason Grew up in south OC Laguna Beach and Dana Point. He is studying business and music at Saddleback College and has his own independent record label, Sidewalk Astronomy Recordings, working with international labels and artists.
Jason’s interesting heritage is a combination of Scottish, Irish, French, and native American Lacota Indian, and he comes from seven generations of French botanists. His great-great-great grandfather was a pioneer of pH testing of soil that made it possible for Easter lilies to bloom by Easter Sunday. Jason’s hobbies include writing and recording music, playing chess, basketball and skateboarding. He is a vegan and an advocate of natural remedies. We are happy to have this self-motivated, hard worker join the rest of our excellent Maintenance Team that works so hard to keep Niguel Shores the extremely well maintained community it is. Don’t hesitate to say Hi! to Jason when you see him.
