California’s Drought: We are sure you are all aware of the fact that California is in a drought situation. Our water company, South Coast, has divided its district into two sections.
Each section has a specific time and days to water our yards. Niguel Shores is in the section to water on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m.
This is the first time in 15 years that 100 per cent of California is under drought conditions ranging from moderate to severe. Seventy-six per cent of the state is experiencing extreme drought conditions. Twenty-seven per cent of the state has a level of dryness that is exceptional. The lack of rain the past three rainy seasons has affected every part of the state.
We ask all of you to adjust your sprinkling systems and also watch your household use of water. This is not the first time California has experienced this problem. Together we can save water and still keep our gardens green.
