Men’s Club: May 2026 News

April was a banner month for the Niguel Shores Men’s
Club, marked by a sophisticated shift in scenery and a high-profile visit from local leadership. On
April 7, we stepped away from our usual breakfast routine for our first luncheon at The Wine
Experience in Dana Point. Approximately 35 residents and guests enjoyed a wonderful meal and four
excel-lent tastings of two white and two red wines curated by our host, Michael Davis. As a
knowledgeable wine Sommelier of the highest order, Michael shared his extensive expertise with the
group, making for a truly educational and social afternoon.
It was a wonderful event, and members can be assured we will be planning more of these fun luncheons in the future.
Our second meeting was a special evening event featuring Supervisor Katrina Foley as our guest
speaker. Because the event was open to all Niguel Shores residents, we had a great turnout to hear Mrs. Foley provide updates on the Dana Point Harbor renovation as
well as several interesting projects currently impacting the City and County. Attendees enjoyed
wine and appetizers while engaging with the Supervisor on these important local issues.
Looking ahead to May, we return to our morning hot breakfasts with two excellent speakers
scheduled. On May 5, we hold our annual Mother’s Day Celebration, and we invite spouses and
significant others to join us for breakfast and a presentation by Jason K. Sicklick, MD, Professor
of Surgery and Executive Vice Chair of Research at UC San Diego Health. Dr. Sicklick has prepared
an extensive presentation for our group. Following this, on May 19, we will host 47th District Congressional Candidate Michael Maxsenti, who will share his views
on critical issues including the Economy, Public Safety, and Education. We look forward to seeing all of you at our upcoming meetings!
