The Niguel Shores Women’s Club celebrated with fun and friendship at two seasonal events last
month. For our annual Walk to the Ritz on December 2, nearly 60 women met at the Cabrillo gate,
enjoying refreshments and holiday cheer on their way to the Ritz, where the magnificent lighted tree was as impressive as ever. After admiring
the beautiful ornaments and taking time for photos, the group continued to the Ritz Lobby Bar to toast the season. It was a joyful chance to reconnect, welcome new neighbors, and share the season with longtime friends.
On December 11, the Women’s Club invited the Men’s Club and other guests to join us for Pinkmas, an evening featuring food, signature drinks, music, and holiday cheer.
The jolly events and pink-themed decorations were exceptional, thanks to the efforts of Cathy Sherline and her committee, who created a warm and festive atmosphere filled with positive energy and holiday spirit.
Looking ahead, our January meeting will be held one week later than usual—on Thursday, January 15 at Noon in the Clubhouse. We are honored to welcome Niguel Shores neighbor, Dr. Kerry Burnight, a nationally recognized gerontologist, researcher, speaker, and author. Dr. Burnight is the originator of the concept of “joyspan,” which focuses not only on adding years to life but on increasing the joy within those years. Her New York Times bestselling book, Joyspan: The Art and Science of Thriving in Life’s Second Half, weaves together scientific research, practical strategies, and meaningful insights to help individuals cultivate greater purpose, well-being, and fulfillment at any stage of life. Her presentation promises to be an informative, inspiring, and thoughtful way to begin the new year.
