Our December 2 meeting was a wonderful way to Jan head into the holiday season and conclude 2025. Members were especially pleased to welcome spouses and guests, who were treated to breakfast and the festive sounds of the Dana Hills High School Choir, led by Ray Medina, the Director of Vocal Music. Their caroling set the perfect tone and reminded us just how fortunate we are to live in a community that values tradition, youth involvement, and coming together during the holidays. A sincere thank you to the choir and to everyone who helped make that morning so special.
As we turn the page to January, we’d like to wish all our members and their families a very Happy New Year. We hope everyone enjoyed a
relaxing and joyful holiday season, and we look forward to another great year for the Men’s Club.
Our first meeting of 2026 will be Tuesday, January 6, and this is an important one—it’s our Annual
Membership Meeting. At this meeting, we will be electing board members for the coming year,
discussing club business, and hearing from our guest speaker, Lieutenant Colonel Joe “Pappy” Papay,
USMC (Ret.).
LtCol Papay served as the Commanding Officer of VMFA(AW)-533, an F/A-18D Hornet squadron stationed
at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina. His career as a Marine Aviator spanned nearly
22 years, during which he flew both the F-4 Phantom and the F/A-18 Hornet, logging more than 5,000 flight hours and completing 198 combat missions. We look forward to hearing his unique perspective on military aviation, leadership, and service.
Our second January meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 20. As always, we look forward to good fellowship, engaging discussion, and another informative program.
Thank you for your continued support of the Men’s Club. We’re excited for what 2026 has in store and hope to see you at both January meetings.
