It’s that time of year
where the weather turns a bit chilly and our hearts and minds turn to the “giving season.” And
that brought 50 members of the Garden Club together in November for a creative workshop to make
beautiful shell holiday gifts. Led by event Chair Paula Maier, the results were more than 100 oyster and scallop shell ornaments to give to Meals on
Wheels recipients during the holidays. It was a fun event where we surprised ourselves with our “craftiness.”
Following along with that holiday theme, this month’s meeting is our annual “members only” Holiday
Potluck Luncheon at the Clubhouse on December 8 at 11:00
a.m. We’ll celebrate the season with lots of good food and holiday cheer, including an optional
garden-related gift exchange for those interested.
The Garden Club continues to grow. We’ve added 13 new members since the start of the Club Year in
September and are currently at 80 members. New members can join at any time … no gardening
expertise required. Dues are
$25 per year, and $5 per guest visit. We meet the second Monday of each month at 11 a.m. in the
Clubhouse. To join, sign-up forms are in the Niguel Shores office. Happy Holidays to all and we’ll touch base again in January!
