Garden Club: November 2025 News

October was a very busy month for the Garden Club! Starting with our monthly meeting, we welcomed Ashley Irene, founder of the Heirloom Potager and a Culinary Garden Designer, who talked about creating practical yet attractive edible gardens that welcome visitors and taste good as well. Her motto is “Grow what you love—eat what you grow.” She demonstrated how to grow a ‘salad bowl’ of different lettuces and herbs all in one pot—amazing!
October also featured our much-anticipated annual Lobster Fest for members and guests. Preceded by a cocktail hour with drinks and appetizers prepared by members, the delicious lobster was grilled on the patio and accompanied by all the traditional sides. It was a fun and memorable evening for all.
Our next meeting is Monday, November 10 at 11:00 a.m. in the Clubhouse. We will kick off the ‘giving sea- son’ at a creative workshop with members making beautiful shell holiday ornaments to give to Meals on Wheels recipients during the holidays.
The Garden Club is growing. We’ve added 12 new members since the start of the club year in September and are currently at 79 members. New members can join at any time … no gardening expertise required. Dues are $25 per person per year, and $5 per guest visit. We meet the second Monday of each month at 11:00 a.m. in the Clubhouse. To join, sign-up forms are in the Niguel Shores office.
