Recreation Amenities Committee: January Seashore News Update

Happy New Year Niguel Shores neighbors! The amenities project is moving more quickly now. Like any large project, the details underground can be tedious and hard to visualize progress. Now that the drainage is complete and groundwork has been laid, we are excited to report the following progress.

A Busy January—Early this month, the sports court, bocce ball and pickleball bump out concrete slabs should be completed (weather permitting). The new wind screens and shade for the ten- nis and pickleball are scheduled to be installed as well. The playground expansion with climbing and play equipment for older children and a new rubber sur- face are also planned to be completed in January.

In addition, we hope to receive the Dana Point permit approval in January for the shade structure which will allow us to complete the picnic area. The new benches, tables and chairs and playground surface will also be installed.
The excess dirt is being used by the Association to repair and re-seed the new enhanced lawn area.
Due to rainy weather and unexpected delays obtaining permits, the project is a few weeks past our expected date of completion. Our new target is a late January completion date.

Looking Forward—Thank you for your continued patience and support throughout this process. We plan to open all the facilities while the grass areas are closed for 90 days for seeding. When the grass is green and we can all run around on it in the spring, we look forward to celebrating with a ribbon cutting ceremony!

As always, if you have questions related to this project, please email NSAmenities@gmail.com.

Here’s to making new memories in 2024!
