Traffic and Safety Committee: June 2023

Guest Lists—With warmer summer weather approaching, coupled with the festivities associated with the end of the school year, the number of friends dropping by will surely increase. To ensure that traffic at the Mari- ner Gate moves as smoothly as possible, we request that everyone regularly update their guest lists. If a guest is not on your list, our gate attendants (conditions permitting) will try and work with the prospective guest and contact you. Unfortunately, this sometimes results in folks losing their composure, and slows down processing people into the community.

Pool and Spa—Guests are welcome to use the pool and spa as long as they are accompanied by a resident. We don’t have a lifeguard on duty. The uniformed patrol attendant on duty will only be responsible for insuring that the swimmers are residents or guests accompanied by a resident.

Burglaries—South Orange County continues to be plagued by teams of daytime burglars. So far, they have struck all around us, but have avoided our com- munity. There are several pos- sible reasons for this. One is that
we are a gated community with an active mobile parking patrol that observes most things and people out of the ordi- nary. Other factors, as identified by researchers, are that our homes and neighborhoods project an orderly and secure appearance, and, most importantly, that we have potential witnesses made up of watchful neighbors.
