Women’s Club – January 2012

The Women’s Club will welcome in the New Year at its January luncheon on the 12th at noon in the ClubHouse. Our speaker will be Niguel Shores resident Warren Greunig who will tell us about Loving Hugs, Inc., the organization that distributes stuffed animals to children suffering in crisis areas around the world. The organization was started in 2007 by Wendy Clark who learned of the tragic circumstances of children in bombing attacks in Iraq. Since then, the organization has expanded through donations and partnering with the U. S. Navy and other non-profits to send stuffed animals to children around the world who are suffering from war, natural disasters or extreme poverty.

Please bring a stuffed animal to the luncheon. There are guidelines as follows: New or very gently used, soft and cuddly, size should be between 8 and 24 inches, not battery operated, no scary animals, no TV cartoon or movie characters (except Disney) and no holiday themed toys (unless holiday decorations are removed).

Look for your e-mail luncheon invitation on Thursday, January 5 and please reply whether or not you can come by Sunday, January 8.
