Oreo Cookie Book Club – December 2011

The Really Serious Oreo Cookie Book Club met on Wednesday, November 16 at the newly remodeled home of Mary Crowl to dissect and discuss the book on the life of Noah Webster and his dictionary. With the exception of one participant, we agreed that it was a badly written and boring book on a subject that is interesting and vital to our history. As usual, the topic of the book led us down divergent and interesting paths of intellectual exploration. The strength of the group lies in the diversity and depth of the minds of the participants. Thankfully, we are diverse. We will have no meeting in December but resume the third Wednesday of January with, we trust, a well written book on T. L. Lawrence by Michael Korda. Phyllis Tezer will host.
