PageTurner’s Book Club: Captains and The Kings by Taylor Caldwell

The Monday afternoon and Thursday afternoon groups of Page Turners will meet January 22 and January 25 to discuss the novel Captains and The Kings by Taylor Caldwell.
“The saga of young Joseph Armagh, recently of Ireland, who promised his dying mother to care for his younger siblings . . . Joseph’s determination carries him through years of shady-deal making and his gradual accumulation of wealth and power.” Caldwell takes on the global powers in this book and goes into great detail about their manipulations of governments and finances.
“While a disclaimer states that all persons portrayed in the book are fictional, many see the story as loosely based on the life of Joseph Kennedy . . .”
