DP Library News: November 2016

The following is a list of programs and events for November 2016. The library is excited to participate in the 9th annual International Games Day @ Your Library event.
We will also be hosting another movie matinee on November 20th. All events held in the Community Room unless otherwise noted. Walk-ins welcome.
Toddler and Preschool:
Toddler Storytime. Tuesday, November 1, 15, 22, 29, 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. This event is for 18 -35 months accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
Stay and Play, Tuesday, November 1, 15, 22, 29, 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. This event is for children of all ages accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
Preschool Storytime, November 1, 15, 22, 29, 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. This event is for children 3-5 years old accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
Children All Ages: The following events are for children of all ages with a parent or caregiver. Afternoon Storytime, Wednesday November 16, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. This month will be a princess theme with stories, songs and an activity after.
International Game Day, Saturday, November 19, 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. Play video games and traditional table top games in the 9th annual game day event.
PJ Storytime with the Sunshine Readers: Monday, November 28, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Children of all ages with a parent. Wearing PJs is encouraged. A cookie and water is provided at the end.
Family Gaming. Thursday, November 30, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Compete in traditional board games, and learn new video games
Children School Age:
Read to a Dog. Wednesday, November 2, 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. and Tuesday, November 15, 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This event is for beginning readers and is held in the Children’s Area. Dogs love listening to stories. Come and make a dog happy.
Kids’ Club, Thursday, November 10, 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. This class is for school age children, ages 5-8. Enjoy different hands-on activities every month.
Tween, Teen:
Teen Scene, Thursday, November 17, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Enjoy different hands-on activities every month. Each class focuses on a different aspect of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (S.T.E.A.M.).
Teen Time, Monday, November 21, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Teens 12-17. Participate in a different workshop every week.
Practice SAT, Saturday, November 12, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Teens 12-17. Take a full length mock test under realistic conditions. Online registration required at http://bit.ly/2aJVQKO
Teen Advisory Board, Monday, November 14, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Teens 12-17, tell us what you want from the library.
Adults
Movie Matinee, November 20, 3:00 to 4:45 p.m. Join us for a special movie matinee. When a hitman accepts to do a job on his birthday, this assignment turns out to be anything but…
Tea Time Book Club, Monday, November 28, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for tea and book chats. Bring your favorite cup for tea. For a list of featured titles call the library (949) 496-5517.
