Emergency Preparedness Committee: July Safety

FIRST PRIORITY: Have a wonderful and SAFE 4th of July!! It’s a great American holiday—BUT PLEASE make it a safe and sane one. Whether you’re enjoying it in Niguel Shores or venturing out to be with friends or family, here are a few things to remember:
Always keep an eye out for our little ones. It’s a fun & exciting day for them, BUT always keep vigilant around the pool or ocean. For that matter, with all the activities of parades, BBQ’s, games, and fireworks, don’t relax when their safety is a priority.
Also, for all of us Big Kids, not a bad idea to leave the fireworks to the professional displays, and be extra aware when driving home after the end of the day with crazy traffic and the influence of some adult beverages.
Start the day with everyone armed with plenty of sunscreen and drink plenty of water throughout the day. Remember the sunglasses and hats, too. Backyard BBQ’s? Keep an eye out for hot grills and especially when using charcoal.
Golf-carts….. bicycles, skate boards, scooters and…helmets?
How about Fido & Kitty? Not necessarily their favorite day when the bangs and sky lights up after the sun goes down. Find a quite place for them to hang out. Did you know more of our furry friends run off on the 4th than any other day?
OK, we all know the drill, let’s just put the fun and safety together and have a WONDERFUL 4th of July AND, for the rest of the Summer, too.
