Women’s Golf: September Update

Captains Val Mitchell and India Rouse set up a scramble for us, assisted by Terri Matrish. The day was overcast and warm with a gentle breeze. All of a sudden deer showed up. It was the mother and the two fawns.
They were frolicking and grazing around the number 3 green, then the number 4 bunker. Our last encounter with them had been in October. It made us appreciate anew Ben Brown’s golf course, which\ gives us such a delightful glimpse of nature at times.
We welcomed a new golfer—Julie Patton. Only one social member, Chris Beaver, was present.
Today’s scramble winners:
Team #3, Mary Lou Shumsky, Irene McDonald, Kathy
Aldriand & Joanne Blanhard 34
Teams #l1 & #3 tied with a score of 36
Team #2 41
Other winners:
Closest to the pin on #6, Barbara Brabeck
Closest to the pin on #8, Judy Boitano
Lowest putts, Judy Boitano
Longest drive, Joanne Blanchard
Next Funday is Monday. September 8. Captains are Judy Jones (673-5242) and Mary Lou Shumsky (586-4478) Please call one of them to be included or to cancel.
Joke of the day:
A golfer died and came back to tell her friend the good news that there is golf in Heaven. Oh wow said the excited friend.
Wait, don’t get too thrilled, the Heavenly golfer continued, here comes the bad news: You have a tee-time next Monday.
