PageTurners – The Glass Room by Simon Mawer

Two of the PageTurners’ book clubs will be reading and discussing The Glass Room, by Simon Mawer. The Monday afternoon group will meet April 27 and the Thursday group will meet April 30.
The Glass Room is set in the 1920s. A young couple meets a modernist architect who creates a stunning home for them. In 1930 their hopes quickly evaporate before the storm clouds of WW II. The couple must leave their old life behind and struggle for survival abroad while their home slips from hand to hand, from Czech to Nazi to Soviet possession and finally back to Czechoslovak with new inhabitants.
Both groups are starting to think of book suggestions for next year.
