Oreo Book Club – A History of Cancer by Siddhartha Mukherjee

The Oreo Cookie Book Club met on October 16 at the home of Norman Schwartz, who led the discussion on the book The Emperor of All Maladies — a History of Cancer, written by Siddhartha Mukherjee. Those who have had cancer were allowed to speak first; one member reported that the leading cause of death for those of us over eighty was falling. In a rush to leave, members tried not to stumble and fall over each other. The next meeting will be held on November 20 at the home of Barbara Milner. We will discuss The Party is Over; How Republicans went Crazy, Democrats became Useless and the Middle Class got Shafted, by Mike Lofgren.
